Dr. Pendleton graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He purchased Cadiz Animal Clinic in February 1993. He is very active in organized veterinary medicine, serving as president of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association 2015-16. His hobbies include history, stamp collecting, hiking and bird watching. Dr. Pendleton is committed to community service and has served many local organizations over the years. He is currently the president of the Harrison County Historical Society and Bowerston section supervisor for the Buckeye Trail. He and his wife Donna have a small farm in Archer Township which the following pets call home: Bullmastiffs Paisley and Violet, French Bulldog Hemmingway, Doberman Usher, donkeys Barbara, Peep and Bucko and horses J-Lo and Lucy.
Dr. Aimee Clay is a 2013 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Clay received her Bachelor of Science from Kent State University in 2009. Prior to working at Cadiz Animal Clinic she practiced for 4 years at Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic as a small animal general practitioner. Her veterinary interests include ophthalmology, dentistry and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Clay is married to Nick Clay from Piedmont, Ohio and have a fun loving daughter named Cora. Their family has added a Rottweiler puppy named Matilda to their family. When she is not practicing medicine Dr. Clay enjoys spending time with her family hiking, kayaking and practicing yoga.
Ginger Held, Office Manager
Ginger has been an employee since February 1994 and resides in Cadiz with her husband Jeff. Ginger’s hobbies include scrapbooking, camping and traveling in their RV. Ginger has two
pets, Faith, a mixed breed and Rudy the orange tabby cat!
Shannon Sherrin, Veterinary Technician
Shannon Sherrin is our Veterinary Technician. Shannon joined our team in May of 2013. She received her license from the Pittsburgh Vet Tech Institute. Her hobbies include horseback and ATV riding, baking and spending time with her family. She has 4 dogs (Teddy, Oreo, Enya & Marley), 3 cats (Chase, Pew & Snot) Fudge the bunny, George the snake and Moose the horse, a Tennesee Walker.
Brianne Smith, Receptionist
Brianne Smith is our front desk receptionist. Brianne worked at the clinic several years ago, but left for a while to be a stay-at-home Mom. Now that both of her children are in school, she has been back to the clinic since February of 2014. Brianne lives in Cadiz with her husband Ben and her daughters Avri and Amelia. When she isn’t working she enjoys cooking, shopping and spending time with her family. Brianne’s husband raises and runs coonhound dogs and they also have an indoor kitty named Tripp.

Sarah Kuhn is a veterinary assistant at Cadiz Animal Clinic. Sarah lives in Cadiz with her husband BJ. They have two cats (VT & Lemmy) and a dog named Elli. In her free time, Sarah enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
Ashley Fabian, Veterinary Assistant
Ashley is a veterinary assistant at Cadiz Animal Clinic also. She lives in the East Springfield area with her husband Jeremy. Ashley enjoys horseback riding, showing calves, fishing and spending time with her husband. They have 3 dogs (Kubota, Rocky & Remmy), 2 cats (Abby & Ziva), 9 horses, a frog and a turtle.
Chelsea Rutter, Veterinary Assistant
Chelsea Rutter is a veterinary assistant and has been an employee since November 2017. Chelsea lives outside of Adena with her husband Lance and her 4 furry babies, Maya & Nikita which are Siberian Huskies a cat named Linus and their newest kitty, Nemo. In her off time she enjoys photography, cosmetology and spending time with friends and family!
Jody Mercer, Customer Service Representative
Jody is one of our customer service representatives. Jody grew up on a dairy farm in Bloomingdale and currently lives on a farm in Richmond where she has beef cattle, horses, mules, donkeys, miniature horses and goats. She has been in the veterinary field for 20 plus years! Jody says that helping animals is her passion!
